Default Why do people insist on saying "tip"?

Let's face it.....it's an AUTOMATIC aka SLUSHBOX.

I guess saying "I have a tip Avant" sounds better than saying "I have an automatic station wagon"

Sorry.....couldn't resist.

Default Fluid in the torque converter begins to cavitate around 7200 - 7400 rpm. Thats why you never see

an automatic transmission mated to a high rev engine.

Default What is the rpm range on a 911 Turbo?

far as I know they're pretty high-revving and they're mated to a Tip.

Default I'm personally glad it comes in manual only

None of that automatic with tiptronic, none of those paddles, just a plain old traditional manual.

I know someone's gonna come along and say the paddles are faster and they give you the option of shifting gears when you want, etc. But for me it just comes down to the joy of making the shifts and enjoying the drive.

Default Clarify F1 gearboxes then? they are semi-automatic, computer controlled and 20k rpm

there is no mechanical linkage, clutch just paddles and somewhat of a full auto mode as well. Engines spin up to 18-19k rpm, granted the lifespan isn't that long but they work.

Ferrari's with F1 gearboxes are auto and semi/auto and rev pretty high?
