Default RS4 Oil consumption !!!

I got the car early July. I have 4000 miles on it, and last week I added my 2nd quart of oil.
The first alert (in dash message) was at 2000miles...
Do you guys think this is normal, even though I really don't drive the car that hard ? Any of you have the same problem ?

Default Go search the threads on oil consumption

If you have not changed out the factory oil yet, change it. If you are babying the car. Stop it.

Default Also if you are compulsively filling it to the top of the hashmark, stop it.

The more you top it off the more you will use. On my car keeping it at the bottom of the hashmark has resulted in only 1/2 qt. of total consumption. HEED RS RS4's ADVISE.

Default Never had a problem with oil at top of hash mark, myself

I think the real key is to aggressively run-in the engine and remove the lightweight factory oil as soon as possible.

Default uh oh.

don't wait for the oil warning to come on....if that happens, you may have already damaged the engine.

Default Agree, but if I fill to the top of the hashmark it quickly drops to midmark and just stays there.

I have used so little oil it may just be my imagination, I only needed to add it twice. Getting my 2nd change today, I'll keep track of it with it topped up this time.

well... It was only the yellow oil warning.. I am assuming it should become red if it's really dangerous no ??
