RS4 performance figures versus S4 Modded (to prove my point)
2006 Audi RS4 Quattro 0-60 4.8 1/4 13.3 (C&D September 2005)
2005 S4 Quattro (Downpipes/exhaust,Chip,18'' OZ SLs) got a 13.2 1/4 mile time http://www.lakuventertainment.com/QuarterLog.htm
So that is a run up to 100+ which is a good judge of a cars straight line performance considering the only suspension change is really DRC and appropriate shocks and springs and 1mm thicker rear sway bar.
So my point of the RS4 not being fast compared to a s4 (friends is modded in the same fashion) is pretty damn true. And to add that the car had 200miles on it, I would hope it breaks in and gets more power.
Anyone have a real response other than to bash an a4 or make up a story?

I have both, a stock S4 cab, and the RS4 with Revo software, full exhaust,
ect...coilovers don't affect what you're talking about.
For the $, get an S4. If you really want something special, get the RS4.
I can't drive my RS4 at full throttle, or don't, it's too much power.

I think that most everyone here bought / ordered the RS4 because of the overall package, not just
the performance. The RS4 is no slouch and neither is the S4, modded or otherwise.
In my case, I am trading up from a 2000 S4 to the 2007 RS4. I could have bought an S4, but wanted something extra and I almost went with a 2007 S4 + DTM package, but decided that I still wanted the full experience the RS4 has to offer. The difference in price, although significant was not enough to dissuade me.
I think that everyone gets a little defensive when someone comes along and says "your car is slow". The RS4 is certainly not slow, and people have gotten fed up of rehashing the same subject over and over.
There are many stock cars that are faster than an RS4, or can be easily modded to give extra performance. Case in point, the old camaro vs. the corvette. With some minor bolt-ons to the camaro, it could be significantly faster than a stock vette. In most cases, who cares ?
If you come here looking for a reasonable discussion, you will normally get it, so long as you don't start your post with a question or statement that is designed to be combative.
P.S. I like you sig.

s4 cab is heavier.
I am speaking of factual numbers. I don't see proof to disprove my point that it wasn't noticeably faster. If anything slower when not broken in.

This is not a combative discussion as of this post. But the figures actually prove
my earlier point several threads down. If you like the car for what it is great. More props to you. However I am comparing the actual performance numbers and not "preference" or "feel" or anything like that.

Indeed. The figures are very close. Depending on the cost of the mods you reference,
it would make the price differential that much less. To each their own.
