Default RS4 smashed up at dealer......

was at the dealership for service and saw a RS4 with the front end all smashed up. Asked the service guy what happened and he said some guy bought the car here in NY but lives in Florida. He came to pick it up and was driving it back to Florida and he decided to take it through some back roads and ended up driving right into a tree. he only had the car for 2 days.

Default That's a shame. People should take the time to learn the handling characteristics of their...

New cars before pushing them to the limits or beyond.

That reminds me a story a few years back that I read in EVO (IIRC). This chap in England buys a brand new TT from an Audi dealer, drives it off the lot and decides to take the back roads home to give it a good test drive. Well he did not make it past the 8 mile mark on the odometer. He crashed it a high speed after losing control of it.

He then tried to sue Audi because of the TT's "vicious handling". This was prior to Audi changing the TT's rear suspension specs, adding a rear spoiler and IIRC tweaking the TT's ESP settings.

It takes all kinds.

Default Sparkhill wants to add it to the vin list so some poor buyer knows the history of the car....

Just call it AW fax.

I am off to the Canadian rockys for a week of camping with the local wildlife. You all need to keep the board warm for me while I'm trying to keep the bears from eating the kids.

Default Sparkhill is keeping an awesome RS4 VIN list and this type of info is good to have...

in case this car goes on the market in the future. Anyone here could refer to the list and know what they are getting.

Default As they said, to add it to the list...

One reason we have the list is so some poor AW member doesn't end up getting a "great deal" on a used RS4 with a "little bit of front end damage."

If you can note the color, that would help too.<ul><li><a href="http://webpages.charter.net/parkhill/RS4/RS4_VIN_List.htm">RS4 Registry</a></li></ul>
