RS5
R&T latest issue shows an Audi timeline for the next 3 years...it states the RS5 will have a twin turbo V-8.
My question to all is how long do you intend on keeping your RS4's and would you trade it for a RS5. The reason is I am considering a RS4 but should I just wait until next summer...

I would go RS4 b/c the RS5 wont be here until the earliest 2013.
Quattro GmBH Audi's tuning division only makes one car at a time. The RS6 is currently in production. Its life span in Europe lasts around 3 years so figure its life span will be over by mid 2011. Than say they RS5 starts production in 2012. It will probably take another full year before the RS5 will be state side. By then my RS4 will have 70k miles and i will be in the market for a new car.

it will be much sooner than that...
the timeline he's referring to in the latest issue of Road & Track quotes an inside source at Audi revealed the following planned model roll-out:
the implication is that these are the "start of production" dates:
summer '08: A3 facelift, Q5
fall '08: R8 V10 TDI
spring '09: RS5, R8 targa
summer '09: A7
fall '09: TT-RS, A5 sportback
summer '11: R4

Thanks for the input...Audi is suggesting though
that because of the popularity of the RS cars here in the U.S. they are building more than one RS car at a time...I believe the 2013 RS car will be the B8 RS4.
In any event it will be interesting to see. My dealer said they are still building RS4s until June 08 so I will make a decision by then. (or put an early order in for the RS5)

Thanks for confirming Bob W. For those who live in the NYC area the Audi consultants from the Audi showroom on Park ave in Manhattan mentioned to me the RS5 would be an 2010 model released early in 2009...we'll see if this timeline is accurate...Audi were right about the S5 and A5 release dates here in the U.S.
