Audi has TERRIBLE lease rates (compared to its competition), so I think most people will tell you that you're better off purchasing/financing.

When I inquired about a lease option, the dealer laughed.

Default They don't make very good lease cars because Audi doesn't really prop the residuals or money factors

In short, money factor is akin to interest rate (Money Factor x 24= Interest Rate) and residual is effectively the forecasted percentage of MSRP remaining in the vehicle when the dealer receives the car back at lease-end. In certain situations (ie, back in 2004 when they incentivized the hell out of the S4), leases can be very attractive if "they" make one of, or both, of these factors very attractive. Also, at times, if they offer tax credits, it can be optimal. However, to get out of a lease is a pain, so you would almost be better off doing a "balloon" if you wanted lower payments. If you do have to lease, I would tell you to do an '08 over an '07, though (better residual).

If it is, in fact, a company car, it could be attractive but it depends on your state's/country's tax laws.

Default Here is a link to some info - a year old, but mostly still relevant

There are more links in my sig.

Bottom Line: Lease if it is the only way you can write the car off as a business expense, otherwise you are better off purchasing it.

Lease Info

Audi lease rates are horrible. I used a 3rd party leasing company:

www.leasecomnpare.com

and had a great experience. They also have a great website that lets you build the lease you want, so you can make a educated decssion, w/ full term disclosure before you go any further.

Also...Look outside your local area, so you have multiple options and plan to NEGOTIATE a deal. I'm from NY, but flew to Cleveland to pickup my RS4. They were as motivated to sell as I was to buy and I saved several thousand dollars off the next best quote.

Default getting out of a lease is no more difficult than getting out of a balloon or traditional finance.

you pay off the balance due on the car...doesn't matter how it was financed, other than the fact that there's a greater likelihood for a negative equity situation in a lease or balloon.

Default where did you search to locate the Cleveland dealer?

I'm also from NY and have expanded my search geography to try to locate the best deal -- local dealers don't seem to be too motivated to unload the '07s despite the fact that the '08s will be available in a matter of weeks.

Which resources did you use to find the car in Cleveland?

Thanks
