Should My Brakes Squeak?
#3
i hear an occasional squeak. when that happens i usually heat them up a tad by getting off the highway a little quicker than normal and applying decent pressure to brakes.. clears up the squeak for a couple weeks (for me anyway).

When my brakes get squeeky, I bed them again using this method: http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm.

I'll try this on my way to work tomorrow. Tonight, after some cat&mouse with a mod'ed B6-S4, the brakes let out quite a wail when I came to a complete stop after getting off the Tpk. After that, they were fine, well squeaky.

I have tried taking the pads out cleaning the calipers and pins and applying anti-squeal compound. Usually solves most noise.
I have done the StopTech bedding process and make sure you are in a empty/low traffic road since they do not really want you to stop completely. I used to pick some back roads when I lived in CA and did it on my Subaru STi. I generates a LOT of heat and lots of brake dust but it made for a nice firm feeling of the pedal.
Cheers
