Default Re: The Cab is here ;)

I think he was being sarcastic, I bought my S4 Cab last Spring even though I wanted the RS4 Cab, But dealer kept telling me it wont be coming here. 6 months later RS4 Cab gets here and I had to trade in my S4 and take a big hit to get the RS4

Default Don't ever believe what Audi dealers say. Most of them don't even know their products...

And Audi AG keeps them in the dark until the last minute about new products and when they are coming to North America.

Default I still want to see the news that the RS6 sedan isn't coming.

I'm convinced that everyone is still interpreting the news that the avant will not be coming to mean that we will not have any RS6.

Default Why does audi do this?

Doesn't it defy the basic demand and supply principles? I am sure if they had more RS4 and RS4 cabs people will buy them in US. US is one the biggest markets. Does BMW do the same thing?

Default "Most of them don't even know their products"

i couldn't agree more with that stmt. it's pretty sad that Audi dealer personnel don't take a more involved approach with Audi cars, instead of the 'move em off the lot' or 'crank em out of the service bay' only mentality.

both the sales and service experience is lacking big time, with a surprising level of ignorance and sloppy work. not all, but definitely most. it comes from the top. there is where the problem lies IMO, an arrogant and cheapskate corporate attitude. it really serves to undermine some fantastic cars.

Default supply and demand only works if you have the $ resources to capitalize.

in Audis case, having an almost niche level market in NA, and having big gorilla VW dragging them down with huge losses year after year, it's probably not worth the risk for Audi to dump tons of money into trying to step up production and representation in NA market...yet.

that's what the 22 new models, some of which are already being shelved, was supposed to do...get them to BMW and Merc sales levels here, and worldwide for that matter. easier said than done.

look at the R8. a nice prestige model to elevate the brand but don't expect them to make money on it.
