Default pics don't really do it justice.

it has a depth that doesn't show up well in photographs. the CF trim in the S4 is similar in that respect, but the RS4 trim has a thicker weave, which seems to exaggerate the 3D effect.

Default Interesting.. what about the plastic that sits on top?

I am worried about it getting scuffed up. Which is one other reason I want the aluminum.. But I don't know if I can wait any longer and the dealer has one that I can have with CF...

Default go take a look at it.

it's not going to scuff more than any material they'd put there.

Default The aluminum is much worse

You can always polish the high-gloss clear polyester lacquer on the CF. The same way you polish the car's clear paint. If the aluminum gets scratched, you may be out of luck.

Default I have the aluminum in my S4

and have had no problem so far at all, which is why i'm hesitent to go CF..

the aluminum has no gloss, so there's nothing to really see. any scratches aren't visible. the CF though has a gloss that is like a clear coat almost..

Default All I'm saying is...

That you can polish out scratches on the CF. As to the aluminum, you'd have to remove the trim and have it re-brushed. OTOH, if you are happy with the aluminum, stay with it as it looks just as good in the RS4 with other aluminum accents.
