Sound system in RS4 - Bass seems lacking

the H-K doesn't really sound any better to me.
Logic 7 is just weird...it seems to make some music sound even worse.
Between the motor and tire noise, I don't think the RS4 is a very good place to listen to music with a critcal ear. I've just been listening to talk radio, if anything.

Now I'm assuming this is the same audio system as the B7 S4...
and if that's the case, the Bose system sounds like shiat. I listened to both systems quite a bit and was very disappointed with the so-called premium Bose. I didn't get it and have the standard one that sounds way better IMO. In fact, I think the stock audio system in my S4 sounds great.

car audio is a difficult environment, given all the variables (windows up/down, temp, etc)...
...most vendors throw power and coverage at the problem. just blow away the outside factors.
bose tries to finesse it. but altho i'm a bose fan for certain home applications, i HATE their car audio. i just can't make any excuses for it.
i mostly choose to listen to the engine.

well the H-K in my M5 blows away the Bose in my RS4... difference is night and day...
I'm not an audiophile but I don't have a hearing disorder either and know what sounds good. It's such big difference in sound quality that going between both vehicles, the system in the RS4 almost sounds like ****. My passengers have commented the same.

Its the nav Head unit
It does not have the midrange control any longer. If you can live without your navigation, vag the nav head unit to make it think thats in an A6 you can find the vag codes on www.navplus.us
Keep the sound characteristics on Bose. You will like that setting alot more. However it screwed up my nav. So i had to change it back to a4, but you can still change the sound characteristic. Try the sound characteristics for an A6, it sounds better. If you change it back and your nav does not work properly, just reset to factory defaults.
You don't have to delete user setting or information.
i am going to try to try and change the car settings tonight to see if it still screws up the navigation. If not i will keep it at A6 with Bose. It sounds a lot better trust me.
