Spark Plugs
Well I have managed to ring up 57,000 on my rs4 so time to change the plugs.
Is anybody using anything other that the $20.00 ea. stock plugs?
Are there any pitfalls regarding access to the plugs? ie:special audi service tools,etc..

Interesting thing about plugs for the RS4...
Dealership sells both the NGK and Bosch as OEM. The Bosch, from my dealer, are $18.98 and the NGK $16.73 (no benefit using one over the other). But ECS Tuning sells only the Bosch for $22.62 for the RS4, but sells only the NGK for the R8 at $35.95.
I guess they figure if you have the money to buy an R8, you can afford to pay more for plugs.
Click the link for a 'how-to' on plug replacement. It's not specifically for the RS4 but I think you'll find it's got all the basics covered.
Btw, the part number for the NGK is PFR7W-TG.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4b6/msgs/429527.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/s4b6/msgs/429527.phtml</a</li></ul>

I did mine at 30K the process is simple, a couple of tips
Main tip is after you remove the coil packs (the removal tool helps a lot and is worth the couple bucks to buy one) is to blow out the plug hole with compressed air to remove any debris before you pull the plugs so it does not fall into the plug hole.
On the passenger bank side you will need to remove the air filter housing so you can just replace the filter while your at it.
On the driver side you will need to pull back the coolant reservoir to get at the back plug. Use a wrench that will hold the plugs in the socket with a long extension and use a torque wrench to tighten them. (make certain you turn them in by hand before you put a wrench on them!)
