Default Common? I've never seen it discussed wrt B6/B7 cars.

Not doubting that you might have had a problem, but i've never seen on forums (nor heard across 5 different Stasis ms cars i've ridden in, including mine) any creaking or other weird noises from the MS suspension. Yes, there are problems on both the B5 and the RS6. My installer, who has done dozens of MS installs also confirmed that the MS makes no abnormal noises on the B6/B7 platform.

If it did make noise, i'd be putting up as much of an uproar as the RS6 crowd has been. (a lot)

Default I believe the DRC clunk is due to air in the system

as I have been told. Somehow air gets in (loads of theories there), but I can tell you that the "bleed and repressurise" procedure makes it go away, at least for a while.

"Somehow air gets in..."

Air would get in due to the system leaking, for one thing. And the clunking on DRC COULD be from the damper bottoming out due to air pockets, ouch!

Default some info

On the initial run of this kit we did find that after much use (ie months of driving) the stud mount would touch the body on some applications. We amended the kit build and offered free updated parts to all owners of this kit. This was published on our website Feb. 08

We would never have modified the chassis to fix such a problem. We have a redesigned mounting to fix it. I have only seen this car once - and it was one of the first RS4's we did. I believe anything that was done to the car was done at another shop.

The noise you speak of seems to be common on ANY lowered B6/7 car, not only STaSIS Equipped cars. We are actively working on it - and will keep you up to date with any findings.

http://www.stasisengineering.com/white_papers/service_bulletins/08-SA-001%20Ohlins%20B6%20B7%20Front%20Stud.pdf

Default We do not do "SCHLOCKY" installs.

Another shop worked on the car after us.

We did the original install on: 09/27/2006

Default I know you have a personal vendetta to torpedo any STaSIS sale but

the B6/7 chassis does not transmit noise like the C5 chassis does. We have made progress on the old chassis cars rear damper rattle though! Hopefully we can completely eliminate it.

Default B5 and C5 chassis cars only.

Not applicable to the B6/B7/B8 cars.

Default ^ S4iowa is correct

The only movement will be compression of the rubber mount. No need to cut any part of the car.

Default Had the same problem

I have had the same issues and even brought it to Stasis to fix it to no avail. It was finally corrected when I brought it to a local independent with a stellar reputation. The rubber bushings were reseated and replaced. i am sure he lubed it to. Please let me know if you want more details.
