Default Stupid question about spinning wheels

Hi, guys.

Usually I don't try to spin wheels at stoplights, but I did try that a few times and in particular yesterday.

Surprisingly I found that my car does not spin the wheels. I tried both stages of the traction control switch (blinking and steady slippery indicator). It just shuts the gas as it senses slippage.

It's definitely not because of the clutch slippage because I hear revs drop.

It's not because of lack of power because I hear how it tries to apply more gas as slippage goes away and drops it again as soon as it starts slipping.

What am I doing wrong? Or what other button should I press? Or is that button just broken in my car?

Default Launching the car to get wheel spin requires a certain amount of skill on a Quattro car...

You need to disable all electronics (ESP both stages on the RS4). You need to dump the clutch from a high RPM and you should be able to spin some of the wheels momentarily.

Don't forget you have Quattro and AWD cars are hard to launch properly. Also EDL is still enabled so it could prevent some wheel spin.

Default could be technique, or it could be a problem with the car.

i can spin the rear wheels pretty easily with just the 1st stage off.

no need to disable the 2nd stage to spin the wheels.

Default Try this...

Rev the car to 5500 rpm.

Hold traction control button down for 6 seconds. Yellow light should be on full time.

With foot on clutch, 1st gear selected, slide your foot off the clutch by moving it rapidly to the left...don't let the clutch ride you foot back up, slip it off to the left.

This is called side stepping.

This will be a harsh, abrupt launch.

If needs be, do it in a parking lot (where it's safe) and with the steering wheel turned full left or full right. That's a blast! But be careful!

Also, remember that any sort of slipping the clutch from such a high rpm will damage your clutch very, very quickly.

That's exactly what I do. It just drops the revs. It's not because of gentle clutch release.

I'll try more as you said, but I'm pretty sure it's not because of the technique...

What should I say to the dealer? It doesn't spin the wheels? Would that try fixing it?
