Default Sub Install - Phase 2: Got blue *****?

Phase 2 is prepping the car for installation FYI. A few things i have learned about this car, and a few questions too.

1. Underneath the foam insulation in the trunk, what is this round bubble of metal surrounded
by a square? Customs guys asked me this going through the USA/CAN border when they inspected the vehicle.
They thought i was bringing drugs north of the border and were salivating at the thought of putting their
knees through the back of my neck.
I haven't the foggiest what its function might be.

2. We have a manual release for the gas filler door if power is unavailable. Cool, i didn't know this existed.
<img src="http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u275/Stunners4/IMG_2863.jpg">

3. Apparently the RS4 has 3 blue *****. I don't know why, girls seem to like it.

4. Dangnamit! Audi loves these little clips for trim and they are a true PITA. Even being extremely careful,
i managed to break a few of them.

5. Behind the right luggage compartment trim is our mighty Bose amplifier.
It powers the entire vehicle, all 9 speakers! I am becoming more and more unimpressed
with this Bose audio system.
After taking it apart, i was amazed that 80% of the size of this amp is metal for heat dissipation. The amp
board is tiny! I'm curious to know what the power ratings on this cute little thing are.

More to come later.

I think those little blue ***** might be a vacuum resevoir for trunk release? I had something similar on my old corrado. there should be some vacuum lines from the engine to it, and then some out to the trunk latch. At least that is my guess.

Curious to know, what kind of drugs you smuggling these days? haha

Default Well if that little green line has anything to do with it

It's part of the exhaust valve system.
