Test Drove '08 RS4
Stopped by Audi and looked at RS4. I think the car looks great. A really nice down played aggressive stance.
The inteiror was really nice too. However, it seemed a bit dated as it follows the A4 design which is about to change. The car's feel was really nice. It fit and handled like a glove... the only problem was power.
As I was test driving and the sales guy asked me how I liked the car, I told him it was really nice. But then I said, look at this as I floored it in 3rd from the bottom of RPM bend. And he said: "Yeah!" And I said: "No. It's underpowered... do you have anything more powerful in the line up?" I never seen anyone more confused. "We do not have anything faster..." He said with disapointment and confusion. I was going take a look at the S6, but it just seemed like a beast of a car with respect to size and weight... and again, with only 435 horse.
It was funny as the manager wouldn't believe that I actually said or meant that the car was underpowered... so they had to come outside and look at my Beast.
I still liked the car and he later called me and told me that a GMG kit would get me to around 500HP. Said it would be exhaust, intake, DP, and a chip. Are his claims somewhat accurate. Can those mild upgrades yield those numbers on RS4? Currently I'm driving a modded E55.

Re: Test Drove '08 RS4
i agree on the power, but i bought one anyway. for where i'm living now it is a good compromise. wouldn't have bought it if i lived in a different climate though. this same car with another 100hp/100tq would be great. when i picked the car up people there kept saying i hope you're ready for that power and i was like yeah i'll be fine as i was selling my 580rwhp z06 at the time. hell even my jeep can pull on the audi pretty good.
no way in hell your seeing 500hp with those mods. dealers in general are idiots.

As a former E55 owner I agree with you, there are times I wish the RS4 had more torque especially at
low RPM's. The RS4 needs higher revs to make power. How many miles were on the car you drove? It takes about 10K miles for Audis to loosen up. Overall I like my RS4 a lot more than the E55. The E55 was a good highway cruiser but no match for the RS4 in handling. The E55 was fast in a straight line, but it was an automatic and it handled like a pig on a dolly. I just couldn't get used to the steering on the E55-no road feel at all.

Agreed on the feel of E55...
The RS4 only had 1400 miles. Maybe that was part of the reason. But as you know, the TQ and power of E55 is addicting even stock. Now that it is modded and should be around 460/5** to the wheel, it would be a hard compromise.
