Is there a way to tune only memory stations while watching the nav?

Is there a way to tune only memory stations while watching the nav?
What I mean is can you scroll through memory only while watching the navigation through the steering wheel? I hate having to leave my radio on the memory section. Is my radio system f'ed up or was this just poor design?

I totally can. The nav, (big screen) is showing the map and the screen in the dash (small screen)
is also showing a summary view of the nav. The small screen is divided into three parts... the top part is the radio station I am listening to and I can use the steering wheel left thumb scroller to change between the stations that are in memory.
