Thinking about downgrading to a B7 S4 Avant

Thinking about downgrading to a B7 S4 Avant
...and I would like to hear opinions from former B7 S4 owners on how much I might miss if I do so. I drove one the other day and I thought that in the low range I wasn't missing too much. I like the practicality (and look) of a wagon and I'm finding that I rarely get to use the high end of the RPM range on the RS4. I'd be looking at possible upgrades like wheels, supsension, exhaust, and a few other things.
Thanks.
Thanks.

you special-ordered a light silver RS4 and already thinking of parting with it?
Sad to hear but I definitely hear where you're coming from. I've always been on the 'bring-us-the-RS4-Avant' camp and before I took delivery of my RS4 sedan, it did cross my mind to pick up a B7 S4 Avant instead. I really wanted an Avant as my next Audi. But 8k miles later on the RS4 and I wouldn't trade it for anything right now... almost. If Audi changes their minds and brings over the RS4 Avant, I'll gladly give them more of my money and what ever body organ they want me to donate that I have a duplicate of.

Even more better, do an A4 Avant Sline and let STaSIS Engineering massage it. :)

I would definitely have been tormented if Audi did offer RS4 Avant
But since they don't I'm still in love with my B6 S4 Avant and couldn't care less that the RS4 sedan exists.

It's funny you say that. I have been driving my buddies S6 Avant the past couple of days
and can't stop thinking about how much more sense his car makes than mine. I've had a B5 S4 Avant and a B6 S4 Sedan before my RS4. The B5 was just a hoot, but not very refined. The B6 is much better and obviously very close to the RS4.
I had H&R coilovers on mine and remember seeing someone say that the S4 felt better with that setup than the DRC system in the RS4. Wrong! At least in my opinion. The RS4 feels much more connected to the road than the setup I had on my S4. I'm sure the Ohlins system would make the RS4 even better.
Anyway, the point is that there are a lot of little things that seperate the S4 and RS4. I will say almost exactly what Larry V said. If Audi ever decides to bring the Avant over here, I will be happy to part with my sedan and give them more of my money to purschase one.
