Default For those of you concerned about weights and such....

...I removed and weighed some stuff that is easily removable from the RS4, including:

-all the floor mats
-trunk mat
-owner's manuals
-first aid kit
-tool kit
-cargo net
-'extended mobility' kit (compressor and canister of goo)
-the 2 reinforced foam molding pieces under the trunk mat

all of this stuff has a combined weight of...

20.4 lbs.

BTW, this is just for the sake of reference, I'm not saying this will make any difference at all in performance (by itself).

Does the ski sack come out? I didn't feel like screwing with it, but that might take the total up to 21.0 lbs.

As far as I know the ski sack should definitely come out. I took it out of my A3.

Default Not practical...

I don't know whether or not you were serious, but helium in automobile tires is not practical. First, our current automobile tires are permeable to helium meaning you would constantly lose tire pressure. Second, at 45 psi, the weight savings of a tire filed with helium versus air is trivial, especially when you consider a RS4 wheel and tire likely weigh over 50 lbs. Helium behaves as a non-ideal gas and is close to it's critical pressure at 45 psi (3 atm). There are probably benefits of using dry nitrogen rather than air though.

Default Is the battery easily accessible?

For jumping purposes, for instance?

Default yep, just lift up the trunk mat and it's right there.

probably easier to jump than most other modern Audis, which often have a plastic cover over the battery that has to be removed to access the terminals. In my old A6 for example, the battery was way back near the base of the windshield under a plastic cover.
