Default Ticket for no front plate

Well...it happened. I knew it would sooner or later. Got a ticket for no front plate so now I need to swap my filler plate out for one that holds a US license plate. Anyone have one that they want to get rid of cheap?

Default Just pay the fine and you don't have to put the plate on.

That's what I did...and I'm also in CA.

that's a good idea, rather than a fix it ticket deal.

Good point. Not sure how much and I doubt that it carries points, but I'll find out for sure. How much was your fine gofastblue?

Default funny story

While waiting for the cop to write the ticket, his partner waived another car to stop and told him to park in front of me. Well...it was the 4th of July and I guess the guy had a little too much to drink and almost backed right into me. I had to lay on the horn and slam it into reverse or he would have. And after all that, the cop still gave me a ticket.

Default Front plate compromise

In Connecticut I have had to deal with the front plate dilemna, including being hounded by our former resident state trooper. I figured that it would be best to comply instead of waiting for him to get me for something more costly. However, with this car I decided to compromise.

Per the pictures in the URL, I cut off the bottom portion of the license plate holder with a straight edge and box cutter and then sliced off the bottom of my plate on the radial arm saw, so that the state and marker number remain but the plate does not protrude beyond the bumper panel over the lower grill (similar to a Euro plate). I would prefer not to have a plate, but I think this works until I get harassed for license plate defacement.

http://picasaweb.google.com/petermclark/LicensePlate</a

Meh..gotta pay to play. Keeping the clean look in front is worth a few tickets here and there
