Totally saved this dude in a BMW...
Over the weekend, I was driving over to the coast which is just a 2-lane highway. On a long straight where there is a passing lane, I passed a number of slow-moving vehicles. A guy in a e46 BMW decided to follow me as well. By the time the passing lane had ended we were both going pretty fast and as we crested over a hill, my V1 starting going crazy. I immediately downshifted without braking to get the speed down to something reasonable. The BMW guy behind me was gesturing in my mirror, like WTF! Then as we passed the highway patrolman facing us on the opposite lane, the guy had a big smile on his face. In hindsight, I should have let him pass me earlier to let him face the heat. Overall, my V1 saved me 4 times over the weekend.
