ugh...long day, but it's here.
it's too dark for any decent pics, but here's a crappy one:
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/414/100_1691.jpg">
drove the car from the dealer in Houston back home to San Antonio (about 400 miles round-trip), so I'm pretty beat. a few notes:
-I got the first car delivered by this particular dealer, which is the largest in Houston. Surprising, considering I first contacted them just last week!
-the S button makes a very noticeable difference, and someone should figure out a way to permanently turn it on (I know you won't let me down).
-manual says no full throttle and don't exceed 6K rpms for the first 600 miles....it's going to be tough, because it feels like the fun really starts around 5000-5500.
-ride compliance is very good, just a bit stiffer than the S4, but not at all uncomfortable.
-for all you naysayers....I averaged 21.3 mpg over 200 highway miles, which included 4 stops to vary the rpms along the way. plus about 10 miles of 'stop-and-go' driving getting from the freeway to my house.
-the car did indeed arrive at the port with a set of spark plugs in the trunk (salesman confirmed), which the dealer apparently swapped with the plugs installed at the factory.
-the dealer also installed a damn front plate, gah! first mod will be the filler panel.
-dealer said the maintenance package is $575, IIRC, but they didn't have the forms yet, so I couldn't purchase it anyway....they're supposed to mail them to me.
-also of interest re: maintenance, the window sticker says the first service (5K miles) is free and included in the price of the car.
that's about all that comes to mind at the moment, feel free to post questions.

just a little...
2 of the exits where I stopped had access roads with a few curves, and the car is certainly more tossable than the S4. someone posted yesterday that it feels like comparing a base A4 to an S4, which is a good description.
