multiple misfires in multiple cylinders. The coil swap did not move this to other cylinders. These are the same ones that coded in all three instances. Bad news is, they still don't know WTF is going on! Good news is, they are still trying to figure it out, they have to, and it's under warranty :-( By the way they are still claiming that no one else has the power dip between 2 and 3K. I guess I'm just really lucky my RS came with that for free and it's sooooo limited!

These are the random misfire codes under 16684(ignition)...
P0300...the 0305, 07, 08 simply denotes the cylinders affected. Start thinking O2 sensor problem causing ECU to lean out mixture, or ECU problem itself. IMO.
What's the new dealer approach to the problem? Have they told you what they plan on doing?

Hey, those are the fault codes and they fall under ignition...
I'm curious as to what they are saying and proposing.
If it was me, I'd make sure they didn't send me off again with some half-assed fix. Not to say that you did anything wrong. Just that my personal feeling is that they need to diagnose the problem and fix it...not merely think that they might have.
They're supposed to be the experts with all the resources at their disposal. "Gee, we have no idea what's causing it." Boy, you never want to hear that! Suggest you guys find what's causing it, pronto! Is that asking too much?

I'd agree with Dave
If the coil packs were swapped across banks, then an O2 problem would make sense. Do they have any data on what the engine was doing when the misfires occurred?

It was bound to happen eventually : )...
another longshot is the knock sensor(s).
I know this is all speculation and can tend to be pointless. The coilpacks/plugs, O2 sensors, injector(s), and knock sensor(s) are things they should be lookng at though.
