Default Want a B7 RS4 after driving it, but interested in any problems and actual H.P.

Drove a RS4 last weekend, and all I can say is wow. Audi has put together a great package. Like to know of any problems mechanical etc. encountered. Also courious about published Horsepower of 420, vs. dyno reports more like 380 to 390. Looking to by March 1.

Default Specified HP is 420 din, 414 SAE

Der Kimbo's dyno plot and my FAT runs confim that this engine is producing specified power, if we assume a 28% drivetrain loss, which seems to be the standard loss measure for Quattro vehicles.

As for me, I've had my RS4 since July and have 11K miles on her. The only problem I've had is a clutch vacuum assist hose that all early models have had a problem with. It was replaced in a day and since then I've had no other issues.

Dyno Plot and FATS run

Default 28% is alot though....

we have baselined dozens and dozens of quattro cars on our mustang and it loses 22%. Ive seen more on other dynos (25% on some others we used) but 28% is alot if its a mustang, dynapak, or dynojet. Do you know if there were other cars baselined there? Would be interesting to see. Maybe the car wasnt broken in yet?

EDIT: after some research I see people were misunderstanding the AWE dyno that they state to use a 1.28 correction factor for. 1.28 isnt 28%, it's 22%. You would use a 1.39 factor to get 28% loss.

"any problems"..."is HP less than advertised 420"...these are questions.

Default Then why didn't you get an A4?

Not trying to be an a-hole... genuinely curious.

Default I should have been more specific

That is, I love the power increase over the S4, but whether it's 420 hp or 415 or 410 w/ all the dyno support, I simply don't care.

Now, if I had vanity plates that said RS4 420, then I would be concerned. . .
