I was really blown away by how much I liked the styling of the B7/B8 when I first saw the car (so, I bought one ), and I really like what Audi has done w/ the TT, and then of course there's the R8. I was hoping for more with the B8 A4 but it's just not there for me. The B8 looks pedestrian to me in comparison to the B7, which is too bad because I was hoping for much more.

first the B5 people complained about the B6 and it's chunky tail lights, then the B6 people complained about the B7 'fishmouth', now the B7 people will complain about the B8 something or other...and so on.

True, but I general I tend to fall into the bucket of people that almost always likes the new styles better. I liked the B6 much, much more than the B5, I liked the B7 more than B6, I like the new TT more than old, I like the new 3 series more than e46 (w/ exception of new M3 that looks like a juvenile boy-racer car). I like the 997 more than 996, etc., etc., etc.

I don't like the B8 more than the B7, at least based on what I've seen and exterior styling-wise.

Agreed. And in reality, every gen of the 4 series has looked good !!!

I also like the new 5 better than the 4. So, I will need to grab a ride in the new S5 before I get a new car.
