Default use Lexol they have a cleaner and a preservative...

The other trick is if you have door panels and other vinyl parts that need to be cleaned use a 10 (water) to 1 solution of Woolite works great, then wipe on 303 Aerospace protectant, also great stuff, low sheen but really protects the vinyl...

Default 2nd, and it doesn't need to be cleaned/condition every time you wash the car!

maybe 4 times a year, tops. more than that, and you'll eventually rub the dye out of the leather if you keep the car long enough. BTDT!

Isn't Lexol sticky?...leaves a tacky residue? I used it in past and stopped for that reason.

Default Like what, rinse with Techron?...

Lexol uses conditioners that most others don't. That may be extra good, or it may be a problem. I do still see Lexol specifically mentioned in some luxury car OM's, though. So, that's a pretty strong endorsement.

Default There are 2 things I don't like about Lexol...

1. It will leave a tacky residue, unless you wipe off immediately, which defeats the purpose of allowing the conditioner to penetraet the leather.

2. It doesn't dry to a matte finish, which is the original look of todays leather interiors.

Try using a leather treatment with some mink oil in it. And also PH balanced and UV protection are important.

Default I used to use Lexol also. Never again after switching to Zaino...

their product leaves no residue and it absolutely smells fantastic for up to 6 months. It's amazing having some one get in your car 3 months later and the first thing they do is comment on how rich the car smells. Lexol smells like a chemical factory. I have bottles of Lexol on my shelf that will never be used again.

Right now I'm using Black Magic because of it's mildness, and leather smell that matches the original smell of the leather. It leaves a natural, matte finish. It has mink oil in it. However, I don't consider Black Magic products as very high end at all. So, I wonder about that.

There are many out there, Zaino being one of the best, I would agree. I may switch and try another here soon. Main thing, you don't want to see color coming off on the cloth when applying. That means you are removing some of the "tanning" process, and is not good...a too harsh, or acidic conditioner.
