Default What's up with Daytona?

Drove through the lot at my local (very small) Audi dealer, and out of approx. 12 new B7's, all but two were gray??? Looks like a similar trend on this forum with RS4s. Makes me want to change my ordered color again (if it's not too late).

Default I went with it because the large paint chips looked great in the sun, lots of flake...

I think you are correct in that we may have a very popular color but then again so far I am only one of two RS4's that will be in my city and the other is that dark blue.

Default the reg B7s are not daytona, but rather dolphin gray. similar, but huge difference...

...side-by-side.

daytona is just really stunning in person. really accents the RS4s lines.

Default ^^^reminds him of Peruvian Flake^^^ IIRC, Daytona, Nogaro, and Avus

have only been offered on "RS" vehicles, and all are quite distinctive. I have had two Nogaro S4's (and no curses), but will likely go for elegant stealth (Daytona) if I move up next year. I have chosen bright colors for imagined safety reasons (e.g., whether it's Teh Man or an incompetent driver, I want them to see me coming), but it can be good to be inconspicuous in teh urban setting, and on remote steelhead streams. Besides, above 4k rpm, they know yer there.

I like Daytona so much I special ordered it for my 07 S4 cabrio. Dolphin is rather flat compared to Daytona.

Didn't know Audi offered spirit blue. Is that special order, or do you mean Sprint Blue?

That was a smiley face after the "spirit" blue in reference to the inexplicable misspelling common
