Wheel Fitment Question: RS6 Wheels on B7 RS4
I will be calling Hartmann with this question on Monday, but I thought I'd see if there were any wheel fitment experts on here. I want to switch out the double 7-spokes for RS6 5-spokes. They are both 19" x 9" but the offsets are different. Here are the results from using an offset calculator:
Current Wheel Width = 9"
Current Wheel Offset = 29mm
New Wheel (RS6) Width = 9"
New Wheel (RS6) Offset = 35mm
Your new wheel will have the following characteristics:
The clearance from strut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 6mm LESS.
The outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT in towards the body by 6mm.
Any ideas if this will be an issue on the RS4?
Would this be a good place for a spacer?
Thanks in advance for your comments.
Also, does anybody know if Hartmann and some of the other resellers are selling the same RS6 wheel made in Italy. The prices vary from $210/each to $275/each. My dealer can get the real deal for $500+/each. Are the real ones worth the extra cash??

Afraid wheelwell will be an issue. Your desription doesn't match what "offset" means.
+29mm to +35mm will place the inside farther away from the suspension and brakes, but more under the wheel arch.

I Agree...The results of the calculator appear to be wrong.
The calculator and the comments it provided appear to be exactly the opposite of what is true. Knowing this I would guess these wheels should fit just fine.

Ours are Italian, not all are
We've been putting our 19x9" ET 35 RS7-172 wheels on the B7 RS4s with 15mm spacers for clearance.
Also the 18x8.5" Et 30 RS61-172 and 5mm spacers will work as well as our 18x8.5" ET 20 RS4-131s.

Working and vacation...
Starting on two new housing projects so have been occupied with that. My car is still at the factory for whatever reason. No one is answering as to why. It still shows as arriving in late August (where is was pushed back to a few weeks ago.) Pothole will be recieving his car in about a week or so, making him the first poster on here to get one.
