Who is as crazy as I am?
Okay.....it was snowing and dark this evening and I was washing my car. Yes, you read correctly. Actually, it was all prompted by the fact that my 3 week old RS4 found its way onto a freshly salted highway a little earlier. I was just going to rinse it off, but it had been two weeks since a wash anyway, and I won't be taking it out tomorrow if the roads are covered with muck, so I cranked up the tunes in the garage, put out the halogen flood lamps and did a full blown wash. Temp was 29 degrees, so I used straight hot water and it didn't freeze. I then pulled the car into the garage and used a leaf blower to blow-dry it (at least get the bulk of the water off) before a final hand dry. The Phantom now sleeps in it's crib, clean and dry, while the muck piles up outside.
FYI.....roads were very slick and the RS4 with the stock size Dunlop Winter Sport 3D didn't falter once. The power was well handled, even under slightly heavy throttle positions. I also just hit 600 miles. YeeeeHawww.........another 1000rpms to play with!!!!!!

Hilarious
I'm actually going to wash mine this evening after dinner (in the dark). It'll be 37 or so, but not freezing. You're a brave man with the leaf blower. . . I would be afraid of damaging the paint. Anyway, enjoy! You'll sleep well knowing that the phantom is clean.

Think of it this way...80mph wind against paint while driving vs. leaf blower
which would be worse ;-)
Leaf blowers shouldn't damage the paint unless it's sucking in air during a sandstorm in saudi arabia.

Good point. . . I was thinking about my blower (under all this shxt) and most likely
loaded with dust, dirt, and the like. . . see it? It's right under the lamp against the wall, lol. . .

You Yanks got nothing on us crazy Canucks! We wash our cars at -25 degrees...
I swear to you guys this is a true story.
A few years back my neighbour from across the street, a really good looking woman (but a fricken b!tch) sees me washing my car at night in sub-zero degree weather as she walks down the street. Of course she couldn't help herself and made to me the following remarks (she knows I'm slightly nuts about my car and cars in general)...
"Why are you washing your car at night in this cold weather?"
"Why bother with the salt and snow on our streets?"
My reply to her is, "I'm taking the car in tomorrow for service at the dealer."
With a perplexed look on her face she says, "So what?"
I reply to that, "You see my dear Natalie, I like my car to be clean for the mechanic who's going to work on it and removing all the salt avoids getting scratches on the car if someone leans on it by mistake."
Still confused by my answer and without her having a chance to say anything I say,
"Natalie, think of it this way, I'm sure you wash your ***** before you go see your gynaecologist, don't you?"
Well that was the end of that conversation!
I wonder why she doesn't speak to me anymore?
