Default Won't you take me to...

I ran up to see my parents for a couple days, and had to make a stop for a quick picture on the way back.

I also passed this behemoth. It was the first CXT I've seen in person (and it's towing that Ranger, by the way).

His running boards are above my mirror. Yep.

Before I left, I had the 5,000 mile service done at the local dealer. The normal service rep (with whom I'm familiar from four and a half years of TT ownership) wasn't there, and the following conversation occurred with the new guy:

"That's a bad ride."
"Thanks very much. I really enjoy it."
"What's it have, 480 horsepower?"
"No, 420..."
"Really. That's the first time I've seen one of those, with the big engine in the small car."
"...They have a black one for sale in your Audi building."

He then mumbled about not having time to make it over there or something. Even before I thought about getting the RS 4, the horsepower specs on the S and RS cars were things I tucked away as interesting trivia. I guess it was too much to expect the company's service reps to do the same?

Default People frequently guess wrong on the HP.

I hear:

"400 right?"

and

"450 right?"

all the time.. I just say it's fast enough... Other times I say its faster than it needs to be. Both are true.

Default Both are very true.

I just didn't expect the dealer service rep to have to guess.

Default THEY are not supposed to be guessing.

when you have an Audi tech as clueless as mentioned above, well, it's hard to believe.

Default Sales people are worse

I was at my local Audi dealership in late '06. Salesman *assured* me that RS4 had not yet been released in the US, wasn't due for many months yet.

I then asked him about the RS4 I'd seen on his showroom floor in July '06, as well as the hundreds of others that had been sold.

He stammered and walked away. Good grief.

Default LOL

the sales people can almost be excused because it's their time tested duty to try and put one over on the customer. but a tech who is cluseless on the car is just ****-poor.
