Would an RS4 as Daily be Suicide?
Peeps,
I'm shopping a daily sedan for runs to airport, client meetings and errands. Would 12-15k per year be RS4 be a bad idea? I recall my mom's 02 A4 3.0 had lots of gremlins (hopefully worked out by the time of RS4).
Would you say RS4 is more or less expensive to maintain than say a 335?

My RS4 has served daily driver duty for 6.5 years. I've never owned a 335, but compared to a couple other BMW's I've owned (E39 M5 and 330xi), they compare well. I had practically no problems with any of the 3 aforementioned cars.

A B7 RS4 is certainly not the cheapest car to run as a daily - expenses like fuel (4.2 V8), tyres (255/35/19 performance tyres) and brakes (OEM pads and rotors are expensive) and general servicing (oil change = 10 litres, 2.65 gallons) all make running this car a little more expensive than other cars.
It'd make for an enjoyable daily assuming you are not in stop start traffic (where a manual can become tiresome) though.

I currently have an 11' XKR. Although its a beast (510hp, 460 lb-ft), looks and sounds great I am missing rowing my own gears. So I'm looking at Gallardos, GT3, 13' Viper and even 355.
Will replace the wife's LR Discovery 1 with Range. Now I need a sedan and have been looking at M5, LS460, A8, RS4 etc.

Mine is a daily driver but I don't really drive it in snow (although I have been tempted). I put about 7k - 9k miles on it per year but that number is dropping since I can work from home more.
No complaints...this is an unbelievable car that we will be lucky to see in this form again.

I put around 25k miles a year. Most of my wear and tear has been from heavy track activity, but just as a daily driver I couldn't imagine it being much worse than other European cars. Just make sure you have a competent local shop to work on the car. 90% of my down time has been a result of either my local Audi dealer not properly taking care of things or taking multiple visits to diagnose problems.
