XM vs. Sirius Satellite. I have XM and have been quite happy with it. My dealer says he can swap th
receiver on my RS4 for about $100 when the car comes in. Since Audi has, in their infinite wisdom dropped the XM option I am curious what the general opinion is on any differences between the two. I am inclined to pay the $100 so I can keep my favorites Chrome, Reefer etc...

Sirius Satellite
I have XM currently, and feel that they as market leaders in satellite radio should try to keep ahead. However, I feel that they have done a pretty poor job in doing so. I just feel that sirius is trying to improve, while XM is falling by cutting programming and increasing monthly rates. I will be glad to switch without reservations.

Not much difference IMO
I have XM on a portable (for my office and home) and love the programming i.e. Bob Dylan, Tom Petty as DJs, etc. Very kool.
Now I have Sirius in RS4 and have spent time sitting in the driveway listening. I found that Sirius covers all the bases that XM does music-selection wise. I have not reviewed the special programming to see what I might be missing.
Of course, If you are a Howard fan, Sirius is the only choice. Also, NASCAR radio is moving to Sirius, I believe. Bet those two don't show up in the same paragraph much!
Anyway, I would have liked to stick to XM as I could add a radio for little $ to the existing subscription. For now, I have subscription to both. If you have only the XM on the one car, I would not hesitate to switch to sirius.
This point is moot anyway. Press the S button and you wont ever listen to the radio anyway!

the biggest difference is you get Howard Stern and all the NFL games on Sirius.
also NBA and NHL. XM gives you MLB, if you're more into baseball.
music-wise, they're similar....except XM now plays commercials on their music channels, Sirius doesn't.
