Default Thats what I'm hoping for...

because if it is, then the body shop will pay for the tow and repair, if its something else then I'm going to have to pay for it, which sucks because I do all my own work on the car and don't like paying someone to do it. I'm stopping by the shop today and see what they say.

Default The motor mount should have nothing to do with the CEL. I think they are two different

problems.

Default I shouldn't that is what has me stumped. Drive the car for 30 seconds or so if the CEL

goes solid I'd lean towards the coil.

Default Not really. The only electrical are headlight connections and foglights.

Default All 8 replaced

Talked to the shop today, said there was at least 3 bad coilpacks, they replaced all 8 and reset the auto level headlights, at no cost to me. I was kind of upset that they did all 8 until I realized I didn't have to pay for it. Body shop says it could have been from them washing the engine, shorting something out, so they picked up the tab. I just hope it doesn't happen again! Anyway I pick it up this afternoon or tomorrow.

Default Usually they fail either one or two at a time. Given that I would say they got some water in them.

They are very sensitive to that. Glad to hear the problem is solved.

Default Yes, washing the engine will definitely cause that.

I had one that popped and started to smoke. Try to avoid washing the motor at any time.

Default Your right, always a bad idea

learned my lesson the hard way on that one with my old Taurus SHO! Noting but hand cleaning my engines since then. I would have thought a body shop would have known better!
