Default 2004 S4 Trany problem !!

I have a 2004 S4. It's hard go into 1st and reverse especially when it's very gold. I took the car back to the dealer and they changed the tensioners in the transmission but I'am still having the same problem.
Are you guys having a same or similar problem?

Default Once in awhile...it takes me 3 tries to get into reverse. As long as I can continue to get in,

I'm good. ;-)

Yes, early build 2004 cars have had tranny problems (not mine so far)...but I think most of us experience issues with the cold weather.

Got warranty but I hate to go back to the dealer(Town Motors in Englewood, NJ). Since I bought my car in May 2004, I have been to the dealer so many times. I think I will take my car to another dealer for service.
If we have the same car let me ask you another question.
While you are driving or down shifting between 900 rpm to 1200 rpm, do you hear a vibration?
It sounds like it's coming from muffler but it's not. The dealer kept my car for almost 10 days for this. First they said it's coming from the drive chain but after talking to the Audi North America, they say it's normal. I didnt buy this story.

I usually don't drive it below 1200 rpm...so I can't help you there.

Default They probably changed the detents. I'm going in for tranny repair next week.

They are not sure if it's the detents or the syncro. I assume we are going to put detents in it and hope that fixes it. Otherwise, it's going inside (which I doubt) or they supply a new box.

Sounds like your lugging the engine to me. Frequency will cause the car to shake.

They said they replaced the tensioners. It feels much better after driving for awhile but cold start is the same.
Good luck with your tranny !!!
