I just got a card in the mail letting me know the new Nav DVD is available. I called up my local Audi dealership, spoke with 5 different people and they were clueless about whether I already have the updated version or even if there is one now available. They are supposed to call me back within the hour with information, but I doubt that is going to happen. Anyone know about this upgrade? On my nav DVD, which is copyrighted 2004, I have version 1A. I did a search and nothing came up. Thanks

I think I'm going to wait another year before I get it. Mine's an '06, and I can think of better things to do with the $200 right now.

If yours is a 2004 copyright, I would go for it and get the upgrade.

Well worth it in my opinion.
Get rid of the stupid disclaimer screen and add's the audio mute feature to the power button.
Also fixes a few other known "bugs" in the firmware.
Pop in the new DVD, reboots twice, put back in your old map disk and you are good to go.

I bought the 2007 upgrade a while ago. If you just do the upgrade and use a 2006 DVD for the map data you don't get all features. Most notable the 3D highway preview, which is probably the coolest enhancement in my opinion. It shows you the lane configuration and which lanes to take in the left part of the screen.

Might not be worth the upgrade if you don't live in the listed areas, although the software update is nice. Among other things, there is no more lawyer screen and the radio stays on preset tuning when you use the nav system.

It has been readily available since about January. Navteq's website does not list the 2007 model year yet but the new disc is available.
