alignment

The audi dealer wants at least $250 for an alignment becasue they say i will also need to adjust the cradle. They also said it would take 4 1/2 hrs... Anyone know where i can get a good alignment in CT / MA / NH.

Right now my left front is -1.8 and my front right is -.6

My Audi dealer quoted me $100 then did it for FREE!

My dealer didn't quote me anything and proceeded to do it for free.

The old warranty, ie the one I have apparently, states that you have one alignment per year. Tell them the car pulls to a certain side etc.

It does sound like the cradle is shifted...

but I have to ask: why? If you didn't take it loose yourself, looks like that should be done regardless of the time it takes.

In any case, the local shop here (NOT Audi dealer) that is very well respected did a fantastic job, let me watch the whole process, set it to my specifications, and charged me $59. The guy even mentioned moving the cradle to adjust camber, acted like that was just part of the process in some cases (mine was centered).

If you do have to pay, I'd look past the dealer to a good alignment shop. There is nothing magic about these cars.
