Audi OEM 17" wheels on B6 S4?
Does anyone know which 17" OEM Audi wheels fit a B6 S4 cab? The dealer told me that without test fitting them, the only wheel he know's of that fits is 8E0-601-025-P-Z17. I couldn't find any pictures or info with that part # but I suspect that a few other 17" OEM wheels will fit a B6 S4. Can anyone help out? I'd like to use the 17"s for winter wheels but would prefer to stay with a OEM wheel.

Here's a picture of the 17" OEM wheels that allegedly fit a B6 S4. I'd still like know if someone is actually using these wheels on B6. Also a followup Q: If these wheels didn't fit, is it as easy as purchasing wheel spacers to clear the brakes? Does anyone know if there any advantages or disdvantages to adding spacers for a winter setup?

Consider 18's if you're in an area with a lot of snow. Dropping it an add'l ...
Inch might make it that much more challenging to get over deep snow. Just something to consider....

Re: That doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't more sidewall be beneficial...
for traction in deeper snow allowing for more of the "under-inflation" effect that is suggested for the deep stuff? Not to mention areas that do get "a lot of snow" seem to have more potholes in the winter which is my main motivation to use 17s. I've driven a 2001 S4 Avant about a mile on the North American trail at Killington at night. Don't ask. But the 16" wheels / pilot alpins (slightly underinflated) were like snow shoes. I don't think I'd be able to do that with 18s. I admit 16" wheels on B5 S4 look dumb but besides looks, am I missing something here about the advantage of 18s in a winter setup?

wheel size is relative to the weight of the car,etc...
A heavy b6 w/17s around a track will eat serious tire compared to an 18 wheel tire combo. What I was referring to was that your car will sit lower w/17s than 18s. For example, guy w/20s slammed has a 1/2 inch higher ride height than me w/18 and i have springs (much higher). If you have a lot of snow you need to consider the drag under the car which will slow you down and may assist in getting you stuck. Now, if you get taller profile tires you will avoid all of this

im not referring to sidewall, im referring to weight of car vs wheel size. The heavier the ..
car the more tire/wheel it needs to handle well. Hard cornering w/a 17 will also chew up the tires pretty fast. Other than that, as long as it fits the calipers there is no reason why you cant do it
