Brighter bulbs for fog lights: Suggestions? Where to buy? Est. cost?
The ones I have are so... yellowy. They do work fine, but want something a big whiter/brighter/HID-like. Would prefer just a simple bulb-swap.
Bear in mind that if ordering from the 'States I'd have to ship across border, at which time my package gets raped.

H9 bulbs....
In my search for the brightest H11 bulbs, I found that with a tiny modification to the plug (of the bulb), you can easily use an H9 bulb for your fog lights.
You can find H9 bulbs at nearly any auto parts store (I ordered them from Amazon, though). Once you have the bulb, you simply need to shave off the upper notch inside the plug with a razor blade (see image). I also swapped the red seals from the original bulbs to the new bulbs as they were thinner and made installation much easier.
Here is a bulb comparison. H9 unmodified on the left, modified on the right:

And here is H9 (left) vs H11 (right) output (on an A3):

Thanks everybody!
I should have been more clear though; brightness is not my main concern. For me, the fogs are on as my DRLs (and off when the car automatically switches to headlights in darkness), so really it's more the whiteness/HID-likeness that is more important.
Thanks though!

Is HID out of the question for you?
