Clear Coat - Plastic coating on front...Worth It?
Any opinons on getting the extra clear coat/plastic coating on the hood?
Dealerships really try to push it.. Does it work? Is it worth the extra $1,000?
I am leaning against b/c of the high cost...Wouldn't it just be cheaper to repaint the car in a few years

I didn't do it 2 years ago, and would highly recommend that you do, nose, first 10" of hood and
front arches have taken a beating
and no, I don't think repaint will be cheaper

Did it on my '95 Porsche 993 and '98 A4 - based on 90K+ miles well worth it
Reason why I had it installed on my B7 S4 Avant when I bought it. But find an independent shop; $1000 is nuts. Should cost $600 or so.

Yes - but dont have it done by the dealer
I spent about 1000 on mine & had it done at a very high end shop. You get what you pay for & if they dont do it right you will hate it. Make sure you see their work - place I went to does mostly Ferrari's & Porsches - not that that means anything - but I got to see what it looks like on a 200k car. Also make sure you do the rear fender flare . Performance tires tend to kick up lots o'rocks
