Cost of a new OE BBS wheel
My wife severely curbed the right front BBS (std. premium package) wheel last night on our 6 day old 2006 S4. Arrgh. Anyone know what the cost of a new one might be - any places to buy one at discount? I do not want to use the new spare.
Thanks in advance. BTW - The car is my first S4 and it is great.

i'm going to guess at least $600...
the problem is that these wheels aren't the same as the aftermarket BBS CH, which would cost about $500. Clair Parts is probably your best bet for OEM.

You can get it reconditioned for about $200-300. It will look and work good as new.
If you are really worried abot the reconditioning, swap it with the spare. Check out wheel reconditiong centers. I know there is one that I have used in Bath, PA. There are others around the country.

the one time I took a wheel to one of those places...
....(Wheels America), they couldn't fix it. They SAY they can fix anything, but they can't. So then the question becomes 'is it worth your time to be told it can't be fixed?'

Re: Cost of a new OE BBS wheel
Thanks to all - I see that I am not alone. I will try Clair tomorrow.
I like the car so much that I am seriously considering a RS4. I have been a 911 guy for many years and sold 2 recently - could not justify in my mind having them sit around and collect dust. The RS4 seems to be a good performance surrogate.

It would probably be less expensive to get a real BBS CH wheel...
OE replacements are usually very expensive. Ask your dealer who they use to refinish wheels. You'd be amazed at what a good wheel refinisher can do.

Get it fixed.....
The problem is, is that if you use the spare in its place, and the spare gets damaged, then you have two damaged wheels. i vote for a DIY repair (check the tech article for repairing scuffed wheels), and just put it back on at the right front. The DIY is cheap, easy, kind of fun, and if it gets damaged again, you wont be that pissed. If you do it right, it will look as good as new.
