Did I race a Skyline?

Did I race a Skyline?
So I got on the Turnpike today and saw a red Nissan that I thought was a G35 from a distance. I got closer, and as he was agressively changing lanes, I saw the silver lettering below the Nissan emblem: Skyline
We both hit it off of the ramp, but in traffic we were limited. We got to about 115 or so, with me rapidly gaining on him before he had to hit the brakes; I followed with hard braking myself.
We chased around a bit for the next 25 or 30 miles in heavy traffic. I got very close to him a few times in slow traffic (25 mph or so) and saw a "350 GT" emblem at the upper right corner. I'm now thinking this was just a Nissan 350Z with some silly badging on it.
That being said, we ran a few more times, again in fairly heavy traffic. Each time I gained on him pretty fast, but was never able to pass due to traffic and the fact that I was overtaking him, but not by more than maybe 10 mph.
At one point in traffic, he mafe a three lane change that I couldn't follow and feel safe, so I slowed down by about 20 mph and then took it slower. The S4 probably could have done it, I just didn't feel confident in 5 oclock traffic, at 110 mph, passing with less than a car length between me and the car I was passing, and going across three lanes.
The Skyline (or 350) seemed much smaller and probably handled a lot "quicker" than my car. Then again, I'm playing it safe these days; I love to drive fast, but I don't want to die on the highway.
Anyway, what do you think? Was this some wanna-be with a skyline badge, or the geniune article? I'm inclined to think I raced a 350 with a badge.
If that's the case, the 350 isn't so far off of the perfomance mark from the S4. I redlined the engine many times in the few runs we had. I gained on him, but never enough to "blow his doors off".
So much for my race story.
Brian.

Did it look like a 350Z?
A real Skyline doesn't look anything like a 350Z. And they have their own unique sound... (mmm... RB26DETT)
And a real one with any sort of mods would blow your doors off.
