Does Your Fuel Gauge Fluctuate?

My fuel gauge fluctuate to the right and left of mid point for no apparent reason (inlcine, accelrate or decelerate).

Is this common?

Gotta admit... I rarely look at it!

I keep the trip computer on "miles left until empty", and gauge my fuel according to this. I find it more useful anyway, since I can figure out where to stop based on this value.

That happened to me once at idle, but then it never happened again. at least that i saw
