Easiest way to add MP3 capability?
I have an '04 with the Audi Symphony Bose system and XM Radio (which I subscribe to). What is the easiest way to add the ability to play digital music to my system? I prefer not to lose the ability to access XM.
I've searched the forums and come up with the DICE solution, but they seem to be on terminal backorder. Aside from an FM transmitter (which never sound all that great) is there any other way to add digital music? I don't care if it's via iPod or something like a Phatnoise system -- I just want to be able to play MP3s.
Thanks for any input.

easiest? RNS-E or icelink
cheapest? DICE, do not get an icelink if you want to control your ipod once it's plugged in

Upgrade to a Symphony II+ perhaps?
Then you can load up the CD changer with 6 MP3 discs (or approximately 4.2GB of MP3s). You won't lose your XM capabilities, but you WILL lose your tape deck (oh well).
Symphony II+ headunits can be had for $250-300, and you can probably sell your Symphony II for $100ish.
Just another option.

Yeah but how do you install it?
I just sold mine last week because I couldn't install it easily (without cutting up the glovebox or whatever). Opted for an RNS-E instead.
I do recommend the Phatbox also. I loved mine.

Found a DICE unit on eBay...
It mentions that I will need a special wiring harness if I want to keep my XM connection (which is what I've read on the forum here as well). Is there a place to purchase such a harness or does it have to be custom made? Thanks.
