Engine compartment thoughts....
Ok, so the B6 S4 has all the extra plastic cover up panels to tidy up the engine compartment. The B7 S4 does not. Hmm, perhaps they are trying to save a tiny bit of weight? It's an engine compartment for crying out loud lets let them see it? Odd.
So now that I see the new RS4 engine compartment, the plastic cover up panels are back? WTF? Any thoughts on why they would not have them on the B7 S4? Not that I care really either way, just seems odd.
Also, wouldn't the carbon fiber engine treatments on the RS4 engine look equally as good on the S4 engine?? Of course with the appropriate S4 badging and minus the FSI etc. Anyone good at CF work? ;-)
Eric.

don't know, and don't care personally.
that **** gets all dirty anyway. Steve Schwing over in the TT forum (TTschwing) did some CF TT engine compartment panels for a few people....not sure if he would do the same for the S4.

seriously though, talk to steve if you're interested...
...he's a good guy. I bought his CF intake for my old TT and had no issues. He just loves doing that stuff and doesn't seem to be in it for the money.

They actually did away with them mid MY 05, B6's...
and you have to believe it was a cost saving move. Why they have reappeared on the RS4 is anybody's guess. Maybe to make a good impression at the auto shows, as it's a much cleaner look with those covers in place.
