So I've had the car 9 days now, and I've already got 750 miles on it. So far, I'm having a blast with it. Few things I've noticed that I wanted to ask about...
1. The shift gate. There is virtually no self-cantering action of my shifter when in the neutral position. For example, upshifting 2-3 requires a specific push of the lever to the right, rather than up into neutral, self-centering, and then straight up into 3rd. The alignment of 3rd & 4th also seems to be off. Several times when downshifting 4-3, I've pushed the lever straight up but was not able to get it to slot into 3rd, and then had to play it side to side to find 3rd. Is this a known issue, or do I have a bad gearbox? Anybody know?
2. I have my V1 plugged into the cigar lighter (it will get hardwired soon, I hope). The other day I unplugged so I could use the lighter for a cigar, but it doesn't work. Has anybody had their lighter burn out, short out, or whatever, from having the radar detector plugged into it? Should I avoid doing this in the future?

1. The shifter is adjustable. Chances are yours is not in alignment.

2. Ive had my V1 in the lighter for over a month and it works fine. So I guess its just an issue that your having since I havent heard of it before.

and if so if you hold it down for a bit does it get at all warm? As for the gate, it sounds like yours is off a bit. An easy fix

this happened to me last week, try replacing the fuse (worked for me)

The lighter doesn't stay in when pressed, doesn't seem to get warm
