Default Fogging of Headlights

I have an 05 B6 S4. Have had nothing but trouble with headlights and condensation inside the lamps on the clear plastic outer lens cover. Brought to 2 different dealers. both say its "normal" and AOA will not spring for new lamps. Anyone have any ideas?

Default Search the A4 and B6 S4 forum archives. Aparently

The foging can be eliminated by replacing some seals in the headlight unit. Was posted last week on the B6 s4 forum by way of the A4 forum. BTW, Audi considers it normal and not in need of attention, BECAUSE they would have to repair every A4/S4 that has been sold since they almost all have this issue.(just like the loss of power steering fluid issue) It seems that someone on the A4 forum did in fact find the cause and the cure for this problem.

Default both of mine did this from delivery,

Somewhere along the line the drivers side stopped, but my dealer removed both headlamps and resealed them.

So far it has not returned in the drivers side, but it has in the passanger.

Dealer is ordering a new headlamp housing for that side.

Default Re: Fogging of Headlights

after 3 months of fighting with audi of north america, my car is going into the dealer on the 30th to get new headlights put in, condensation in your headlights is NOT normal, no matter what ANYONE says, vented headlights or not. If it was normal, every car on the road or produced would have the same problem

Default What about some condensation right around the seals for the headlights?

I noticed a long time ago... right where the clear lens meets the back of the headlight.... there's a little condensation there I think....

Default Its "normal" in the same way oil consumption and loss of PS fluid is considered by Audi as "Normal"

By claiming this, they save huge amounts of money in not having to do the warranty work to actually repair the issues. Include the drive by wire problems in this group as well.
