How much to offer for a brand new 05 B6 S4?
Local dealer has one last brand new 05 B6 S4 for sale. It's has auto trans. and premium/audio pkg. MSRP is around $51k. What should I offer?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I would say about $45K-$46K would be reasonable...
Of course, start w/ the lower offer first. I wouldn't go over that price range though. They should be pretty desperate to sell it.

i say ask for the invoice price and then offer 1k less and heres why ...
right before the 05.5 came out, aoa was given dealers a 2k incentive on each b6. to get the incentive, most dealers "punched" any b6 in inventory. when they "punch" the car, it no longer appears in searchable inventories and the warranty starts from that date. i found this out when looking for a b6 a few months ago; i ended up not being to find a NEW one that i like. indeed, i only found one new b6 at any dealer within 100 miles (and i live in westchester so there are alot of diff options). if you offer them at 1k less than invoice (i would offer 2k below invoice and work up from there), they are still making money 1k plus whatever the dealerhold back is (usually a percentage of msrp). trust me, they want to get rid of these. let them know you know about the 2k incentive. an informed customer can be very intimidating to them. if they admit its punched - and thers no reason they ought not, its a standard practice - you have even more bargaining power since you have a lesser warranty. let us know how it goes. goodluck!!

No higher than Mid 40s sounds right....
either way you can't go wrong IMHO. The fact that it is brand new is sweet, as there are very few around. What color is it? If it's a color you reeeaaallly want, what difference does couple grand make. Remember, there's always a worse and a better deal out there. If it fits your budget, than go for it.

Maybe this will help a little
When I traded my 05 S4 in for my new car the dealer gave me 39k on trade in value. My 05 was an Imola yellow 6spd. with 4,500 miles. Maybe that will help some and maybe it won't. To protect yourself I would try to be in the low 40's or better.
