i STFA...our clutches HEAL themselves? wtf?
seriously?
accelerating fro a stop, 1st, 2nd, then the pedal sticks to the floor.
I coast all the way to a stop.
once in neutral, wont go into gear.
Smells of intense clutch in the air.
pedal still will not come out.
will not go into gear.
Then, if I push harder on the clutch (as if possible), and really ram into 1st gear, the car starts to move itty bitty forward.
At that point I can push a tad on the accelerator to get some amount of speed, then hard shift into 2nd....
I was in a bad area...it had to be done. It was past midnight.
So I manage to get to 60mph on the freeway. I drive the rest of the way home....in the rain, trying to not go under 40 so I didnt have to shift. Praying for greenlights the whole way home.
After about 20 or so miles, i can start to feel the springyness back in the clutch. Its not back to normal at that point, but the tension has come back just a tad.
temp outside was about 60.
Then, about 6 jmiles after that, it starts to feel even more closer to normal, but still not like it was.
This morning, the whole thing is essentially non-existent, and totally NOT what it was like last night. Only differences now are that the shift point of the clutch is a tad sooner i believe, and when going from a stop in 1st, there is a SLIGHT grind noise, which is seemingly going away after more usage.
Can someone tell me just WTF is going on here?

really? do you know this...
is it covered under waranty, and if not, are they cheaper than clutch replacement?
also, what is the relation of that cylinder to the clutch assembly altogether?
I am thinking the clutch CANT be bad, because it would have never recovered....it just seems impossible for a bad clutch to all of a sudden work near normal again.

it sounds like you lost pressure in the clutch. If the slave cylinder went its
cheaper than the clutch but iirc jsut has hard to replace. But it should be covered under warranty. IT may have also been a DBW issue that arrises every so often where the RMS go up and the clutch doesn't. I had taht happen twice but not in a long time.

I roasted mine 2 years ago, thought I'd need a new one the next day.
(after 3 consecutive hard launches against um..a bicyclist)
I'm still on the same clutch at 57k miles and 3+ years. Mine's been durable!
(knocking on wood now.)

np and good luck.
just note, the not going into gear would have me a bit worried. I'd read what ruknd is posting below.
Mine was just the clutch pedal feel from that golden-brown roasting I did...mmm it smelt so bad. Never had issues with the gear though.
