Default Insurance question/poll - Progressive

Reviewed my annual policy with Liberty Mutual. Seemed *way* expensive (insuring 2 Audis, perfect driving records). Quoted Progressive from their website and came in $1700 less! Holy smokes.

Question is (for Progrssive policy holders): does Progressive pay out at reasonable rates in case of an accident? In other words, do they provide OEM replacement parts, etc? I can't figure how they could come in that dramatically cheaper, unless Liberty is simply taking me for a huge ride.

Sorry, can't help here, but how much did you pay? Is it for 6 months?

Default Progressive has been super sweet to deal with for me.

They have been awesome to me. Some people told me horror stories, but in my experience it really couldn't get better. I had an incident with my car and I swear the guy was actually concerned. (okay, he probably wasn't, but he was atleast a damn good actor.)

Another plus is they fix glass chips for free. That kicks ***. Some guy will come to your house and do it. Very cool as every good s4 owner knows our windshields are prone to chip if you sneeze on them.

Progressive is sweet for me too. My yearly rate is now half of what it was before with farmers.

Default My body reapair shop says Progressive is the worse.

The reason they are cheaper is because they require repair shops to use used parts where possible & 2nd rate parts instead of OEM parts.

Default had progressive until recently, including when I bumped up my jeep a couple of years ago..

progressive were really pushing the non-oem parts, body shop and I really have to go to bat - but I reckon most insurance companies will play that game these days

Default Progressive has been good so far...

I'm dealing with them currently on a claim. My adjuster has been great to work with and has already cut a check to begin work (accident this past Saturday). I haven't heard anything about requirements to use 2nd rate parts...not that any exist for the S4. I believe the only thing you can get at the moment for the S4 is OEM. I was also allowed to use my own body shop; wasn't pressured to use network shops.

Screw Progressive, they wanted 1000/month for my bike. Went with AMFAM for 120/month.

Default Car with Progressive; Motorcycle with StateFarm

I have my car thru Progressive. They have a great rate. Only $15 increase from '01 S4 to '04 S4. Even with crappy driving record. Hell, even Hertz won't rent me cars.

Saw someone mentioned motorcycle insurance. Progressive sucks for motorcycle insurance. I have a Ducati 998. Progressive wanted $3,000 per year! StateFarm = $450 per year. Spoke with a friend. He said it is because StateFarm only looks at the size of the engine. Progrssive looks at what kind of bike it is. More insurance companies may be moving to the Progressive methode of insuring motorcycles.
