Iridium IXs are in: noticeable difference!
Threw in some NGK Iridium IXs (BKR6EIX) at 35k miles and it made a world of difference. Highly recommended!
I was scared to start the engine after I finished, but I knew I had done everything by the book, so really didn't need to worry. Anyway, there is a definite improvement in throttle response and probably acceleration... gas mileage we'll have to wait till the morning commute, but I suspect it might improve 0.5-1.0 mpg.

Hardest part was getting at those damn T25 Torx screws.I had to clamp a Torx bit with a vise grip and then turn 1/8 of a turn at a time for a couple of them. What a pain! Actually replacing the 8 plugs took all of about 15 minutes once I could get at em, but taking everything apart and then back together took well over 2 hours for my first time.
While I was at it, I also managed to clean out a cigarette butt and several insects from the air intake pathway. Seems as though there's a little mesh filter and catch bucket for that stuff after the accordian piece...

Awesome! I plan on changing mine on Tuesday.
FYI that little filter in between "the accordian piece" is called the pre-filter, AFAIK most people have removed it.
BTW: How much did you pay for your plugs/source?
