Need to know what the high beam bulb in '05 Bixenon is
Can any one with '05 that has the new Bixenon HID lights check their owners manual and tell me what bulb the high beam halogen bulb is?
I'm having '05 Bixenons that I got from Clair Parts installed on my '04 S4 by my Audi dealer and I have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up because they said the high beam bulb was different (not the H7 in my '04 lights) and they only had one correct bulb in stock. I kinda worried because this just doesn't sound right.
Thanks!
Todd

Should be fine. That's new to me.
I have a set of the newer style headlamps, although they are e-codes, the are the xenon+.
My stock ballast and bulb fit and work perfectly. I wouldn't spend all that money before you know for sure. Xenon bulbs are EXPENSIVE!!!

Its not the HID bulb - the H7 changed to an H10
I would have freaked if it was the HID bulb. They told me the H7 changed to an H10 in the high beam, really flash-to-pass light. They could only get one H10 and the other needs to be back ordered.

What? Are you sure?
I'm being very serious here.
I have a set of the new Xenon+ (Bi-xenon) headlamp housings. They are the latest version of the housing. Sure, mine are e-codes, but that does NOT change the low or high beam bulbs.
Now, if you want to go ahead and spend the money on the bulbs, that's fine. And good luck trying to find a H10 bulb, because I can't remember seeing those ANYWHERE.
But, I DO know this: I took out the low-beam xenon bulb and ballast from my US housings, and installed them in the xenon+ housing. There were no fitment issues. I did the same thing with the flash-to-pass halogen bulb. Which by the way, IS a halogen bulb. There is only ONE xenon bulb in the xenon+ headlamps.
Anyway, the stock bulbs should all work fine, including your turn signal bulb.
Call me crazy, but I know what I'm talking about. This is the first I've ever heard of the H10 bulbs being needed. Besides, somebody just bought the Xenon+ (US CODE) from PureMS and his work just fine. Please triple-check on that.

That is what the service tech told me (more)
and I'm not sure I believe him but I'm going to pick up the car soon. I never looked at the connector to the halogen bulb - I just looked at where it mounts and said "yep looks like the same H7". When I look for info about the H10 all I can find is 9145/H10 which looks the same but has a sealed 90deg connector rather than the straight spade tyoe connector and is 45 watts rather that 55 watts. I'll be taking a look when I pick the car up - with only one halogen bulb I should have just done the work myself but when I asked about getting the autoleveling reset they offered to do the whole job and I figure it would save me time.

I hear ya...
It would definitely be an idea situation. Drop it off and not worry about it. But I don't get why the H10 comes into play?
Regardless, I hope it works out and that it performs perfectly for you. After all, they are the tech.
Enjoy 'em!
